News: Britney Spears' dad: Justice was served
Britney Spears' father Jamie is "relieved" that the case filed against his family by Sam Lufti was dismissed.
The pop star's former manager Sam sued Britney and her parents for defamation and breach of contract.
On Thursday after six days of testimony, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera found that Sam simply had no argument and threw out his case.
Jamie is glad that the drama has come to an end.
"I'm just so relieved that this is over with. That our family can finally put this behind us and move forward," he told Entertainment Tonight.
"I am so proud of each lawyer that represented our family in this. They were so prepared. They were ready. They stood behind us and I'm just so proud of each one of them that handled each one of these cases.
"I'm also very proud of and also very thankful for the judicial system and the judge. It took her a lot of patience and took a lot of time to listen to all that was said and I want to thank her so much for the decision that she made and she made it upon the evidence and she made it upon the law and I believe justice was served."
Sam claimed that Britney owed him wages and that her father Jamie punched him. He also alleged that Britney's mother Lynne slandered him in her 2008 book and that his professional relationship deteriorated due to her abuse of prescription amphetamine Adderall.
Apparently Sam is planning to appeal Judge Bruguera's decision to dismiss.
